With only two recordings to test the free trial, it didnt seem worth it to use the two recordings of the control box to decide if I liked it. YOU and nch software would pool their talents. The latter two have some great preproduction features, but a lousy interface. Annoyingly large icons with no ability to turn off text labels. HD Youtube videos in the last few years, at the rate of several per week most of these are fullscreen recordings of my desktop, and are text intensive Bible exegesis. Main programs used are Auto. Screen. Recorder Pro from wisdom soft, and AVS4. YOU. Due to hassles in using both programs, I came to cnet to find alternatives. Its been frustrating. This program has potential. Overall, its intelligently designed. There is no banner in the trial version, but there is a limit of 3 minutes to record. Wish theyd make it just a little longer, so you can test for CPU overload and other problems which only show in a longer recording. But if you know what to test, 3 minutes is maybe enough. TEST MOUSEHOOKS between the recorder and whatever desktop activity youre recording. I will probably buy this program, but this review is for the cheaper standard version, and Ive not yet tested the Pro version. Dont buy this without also buying Video Edit Magic. Will update the review when Ive tested both programs, and will report if I bought it. Id be willing to pay a LOT more, if they would soup up the text overlay options in either Recorder or Editor. Updated on Jul 8, 2. UPDATE 1 pro re Video Magic suddenly is not true after exiting the program. Now I cant get the window to float outside the menu, and it borders the screen with too much deadspace, such that the text is greeked. Will have to figure out why it worked the first time, but not now. No instructions on that.
